Jordan had her Arizona State Cheerleading Competition this past weekend. For those who don't know much about cheerleading, "State" is a big deal, you work hard for this competition all year long, you compete against all your rivals to find out who is the best. Jordan wasn't originally planning to compete with her team, but they called her up after loosing a couple other girls and pretty much begged her to compete with them, so she accepted. Jordan had to learn the whole routine in just a few weeks, the rest of the girls had months to learn it. I have to say not just from my "mom" point of view, but also from my "cheerleader" point of view...Campo Verde Freshman Cheerleaders ROCKED!!! They did so awesome! I was so proud of them, they looked amazing! There were a total of 5 teams competing in their category (Large All-Girl Freshman) and only the top 3 teams went home with a trophy. Campo Verde missed 3rd place by a whole two measly points, yup they got 4th. I and everyone else was so bummed, I really thought they got at least 3rd place. They did have some tuff competition. Some of the things that hurt them was 1 they were competing in a "large" squad category, but really wasn't a "large" team, they were when they registered, but they lost a few team mates in between, so therefore, their pyramids and stunts weren't as big and eye appealing, another thing was their tumbling, they only had round-off back handspring passes, one of the teams they competed against had round-off backhand spring fulls, huge difference, the judges also said their cheer was too fast, bummer. =( Again they did an awesome job and they were proud of themselves. This was the first time Campo Verde had ever competed, but it will not be their last. =) Congratulations Girls, you guys were AWESOME!!
Jordan had a good friend from church competing against her on Hamilton's cheer Squad.
