A's 16 Month Update

What a month! A has really kept us on our toes this month. She had her Dr's appointment last week and A is still in the peanut range, she currently weighs 18 pounds and 5 ounces which puts her in less than the 3% of other babies her age. She may not have gained very much weight but she has gotten taller, she is now 30 1/2 inches tall, that puts her in the 50th percentile for her height. We have had lot's of people ask if the Dr is concerned because she is tiny, and the answer is no. The Dr knows were not starving her, and that she is very active, she also looks at D and I and knows that were not very big, so she won't be very big. =) A has recently cut her fourth tooth on top, giving her a total of six teeth. A has also learned how to throw her self down on the floor (temper tantrum) if she does not get her way, I am sure she gets that from her Daddy. =) Her babble is starting to turn in to words, it seems like she is saying a new word everyday. She is continuing to learn more animal sounds, and is learning her body parts. She has also started to use a little bit of sign language, and folds her hands to say her prayers before dinner and at bed time. She still loves to swim, dance, talk on the phone, and has taken up a new hobby, climbing. She climbs on EVERYTHING! Grandma C just passed down her Daddy's rocker from when he was little, and she loves it, she acts like such a big girl when she sits in it. Well, I think I have just about covered what A has been up to. We hope all of you are doing well, talk to you soon.

J's Gone Dark

J has recently dyed her hair a dark brown. We all really like it, we also think it makes her look older and definitely makes her look more like her Mom. J says she will probably never go back to her lighter hair color because she has never liked that her eyebrows were darker than her hair. So what do you think of J's new color?

Fun in Munds

So after our busy Fourth of July weekend A and I headed up to spend some time with S Karg and the kids in Munds Park. We had fun hanging out, going on Ranger Rides, and taking nice long walks in and out of the forest. The kids always get along so well, I think A has a crush on J, and S and I always have so much to talk about. We can't wait to do it again, and maybe next time D, J & R can join us. Thanks for inviting us guys. F, our future model, always posing. J and A eating cookies and milk before bedtime.

6th of July

On the Sunday the 6th, we participated in the annual Fireman Hose Cart Races, and Bucket Brigades. This is always one of my most favorite things to do, it is like a huge water fight, it is so much fun. What they do is they get the old hose carts that they used to have horses pull to the fires back in the old days, they get teams of 5 firemen, and it's a race. You start in the middle of the street and the teams take off running pulling the hose carts away from each other down to the fire hydrants, once at the fire hydrants they have to hook up the hose, once the water starts flowing watch out. It is a race to see what team can knock down the other teams cone first. D's strategy is if he sprays the other team first they won't be able to concentrate on knocking his cone down. =) I don't think that strategy worked to well, Prescott fire ended up loosing the hose cart races this year. The Bucket Brigades, are also a way fireman used to fight fires in the old days. The object is to fill water buckets pass them down the line and the first team to fill a 50 gallon drum of water is the winner. Prescott Fire took first place in this years Bucket Brigades. We also had a Wives team, two years ago us wives won the trophy, this year we didn't do so hot, but were gonna keep practicing for next year.

Joining us for the festivities this time was our good friends the Kargs'. They too love to watch the water races, and the kids love to play in the water. After the water festivities, we walked around and looked at the booths they had downtown and got an ice cream cone. Then we all headed to the annual Union Fire Picnic, where we ate yummy Carne Asada burritos. Once again we had a wonderful Fourth of July Weekend, and can't wait to do it all again next year. Let us know if you would like to join in on the fun next year and we will get you all the info. 5th of July

We had so much going on 4th of July weekend that I decided to break it up by day. On Saturday, our good friends the Olsons came up to enjoy some of the festivities with us. Grandma C, A, and i met them nice and early for breakfast before heading downtown for the 4th of July Rodeo Parade. D was working but he was in the parade so we go to see him for a few seconds before heading back to the station. After the parade, we walked downtown for a little bit, then went to lunch. After lunch I took the Olsons tot he fire station so we could see D. After hanging out at the station the Olsons headed back to Phoenix and we headed back home. Another fun day. It was so good to spend some time with the Olsons, and their new Baby, R.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July! We hope all of you had a fun and safe 4th of July, we sure did. This time of year is always so much fun in Prescott, there is always so much to do, and of course we have to do it all. =) This year is was mostly A and I doing all the fun stuff, D worked Thursday, Friday and Saturday, yup 72 hours straight, and J was on her annual Hunt family vacation. On Friday D's Mom, Grandma C, came up to watch the fireworks with us. On our way into town we stopped and picked up our good friend Scot. We spent the afternoon at Pioneer park, where we walked around, ate, listened to music and got rained on, well kinda, we took cover in the fire truck. =) We got lucky, D got to come to the park just before the fireworks started, so we got to sit with him and watch them. We were so close to the fireworks, you could actually see them lighting them, they were so loud and so bright. This was A's first experience with fireworks, surprisingly it was the brightness of them that bugged her most and not the sound, why you ask, because she fell asleep during the show. We had a great time and can't wait to do it again next year. Scot & KatrinaFirework setting onmy camera-pretty cool.
