On the Sunday the 6th, we participated in the annual Fireman Hose Cart Races, and Bucket Brigades. This is always one of my most favorite things to do, it is like a huge water fight, it is so much fun. What they do is they get the old hose carts that they used to have horses pull to the fires back in the old days, they get teams of 5 firemen, and it's a race. You start in the middle of the street and the teams take off running pulling the hose carts away from each other down to the fire hydrants, once at the fire hydrants they have to hook up the hose, once the water starts flowing watch out. It is a race to see what team can knock down the other teams cone first. D's strategy is if he sprays the other team first they won't be able to concentrate on knocking his cone down. =) I don't think that strategy worked to well, Prescott fire ended up loosing the hose cart races this year.

The object is to fill water buckets pass them down the line and the first team to fill a 50 gallon drum of water is the winner. Prescott Fire took first place in this years Bucket Brigades. We also had a Wives team, two years ago us wives won the trophy, this year we didn't do so hot, but were gonna keep practicing for next year. 
Joining us for the festivities this time was our good friends the Kargs'. They too love to watch the water races, and the kids love to play in the water. After the water festivities, we walked around and looked at the booths they had downtown and got an ice cream cone. Then we all headed to the annual Union Fire Picnic, where we ate yummy Carne Asada burritos. Once again we had a wonderful Fourth of July Weekend, and can't wait to do it all again next year. F sure loves D. If you guys weren't so much in love, she might pose some competition. ha,ha. JK We had a great time, which we could have stayed longer.
