PRESCOTT FIRE DEPARTMENT FAMILY LOSES ONE OF THIER OWN

PRESCOTT FIRE DEPARTMENT FAMILY LOSES ONE OF THIER OWN

Prescott Fire Department lost one of their own on Tuesday February 24, 2009. Recently retired (November, 2007) Battalion Chief Brad Malm passed away yesterday after complications from heart surgery. Chief Malm will be sorely missed by our department and the community.

Chief Brad Malm spent 30 years with Prescott Fire Department retiring in November 2007 as a battalion chief. Chief Malm was a core leader in the Prescott Fire Department specializing in his skills as a paramedic, fire scene commander, instructor and fire academy coordinator at Yavapai College, and leader of the hazardous material and technical rescue teams. Chief Malm has always been close to many of our department members. He often could be found exercising at the firehouse on White Spar and actively attending fire department functions on a regular basis.

Chief Malm is survived by his two children Nate and Orissa, and four grandchildren. Donations are being accepted for the Malm Family by Prescott Firefighter Charities at Prescott Fire Administration at 2086 Willow Creek Road. Services for Chief Malm will be held in the City of Prescott and are still being coordinated by the family with the assistance of the Prescott Fire Department. The Prescott Fire Department family will miss the presence of our friend and colleague Chief Brad Malm.

A's 23 Month Update

Where do we begin, our baby is really no longer a baby. We have one more month until we enter the TERRIBLE TWO'S! I think I say this every month, but she really truly gets more vocal, so much smarter and develops so much more personality.

Potty training is going VERY well. When we are home she is usually naked or in panties (as you will see in most of the pics). She is doing a great job of letting us know when she has to go, she has even been staying dry during her naps. She is still a little afraid to poop on the toilet, she tries to wait till bed time when she has pull-up on. The next step we have to take is staying dry in public. If she has a pull-up on she will not tell us she has to go, but I am afraid not to put her in one while running errands. Some advice would be great.

She is still trying to cut the rest of her eye teeth, she got one, two are just starting to break through and the other doesn't look like it is close to coming out yet. Her appetite is all over the place, some days she eats a ton and others I am lucky if she eats anything, well not really but that is what it seems like.

Her second birthday plans are well on there way. Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21st. We are still working on the details, but the invites will go out in a couple of weeks to the family and close friends.

I think that is about it for now, tata till she is two. =)

Valentines Day

We finally did it! We spent our first night away without A. I have been wanting to do it for awhile and D has been a little hesitant on it, but I finally convinced him that we needed some alone time. D had Valentines weekend off and we knew that we were gonna be heading down to Phoenix for J's competition and since that is where all our family is we said lets do it, so we did it. Our friends the Sampsons got us a great deal on a room on South Mountain (thank you guys), so after the competition, we went across the way and checked in. We had a great time, we (I) so needed the break. We went and had a peaceful dinner at Outback we even ordered a couple of drinks. Then we went back to our room where we enjoyed some quality time together. Our Traditional "Kissy" PictureMmm Our Brownie Sundae

As far as A's night without us. It started off a little rocky and scary when we sent her with her Tata to my sister Erins house. She FREAKED! It broke my heart and I balled my eyes out and about called it all off, I felt like the worst mom on the planet. Once she got to my sisters, she was totally fine. She had a blast playing with her three cousins. When we went to pick her up the next day, it was like she could have cared less that we were there. =) Thank you so much E & D. We really appreciate you guys keeping her for us.

J's Valentine Competition

J had her third to last Cheer Competition of the season on Valentines Day. Team Dynamics looked great, motions were sharp and their facials were great, but we had a fall and that hurt us. They were competing against three other teams , and 3 of the four teams had falls, we ended up with a third place trophy, but in my opinion it should have been second place. =) They did also get a trophy for having the best choreography. J and cousin A we are so very proud of you, you did awesome and we can't wait for the next competition. I did take more pictures but they came out pretty dark, so I am only posting the good lighter ones. They all wore hearts for Valentines Day

GO TEAM DYNAMICS!

Valentines Baking

A and I spent last Friday doing some baking for Valentines day. We made Chocolate Chip Cookies, Sugar Cookies, Cupcakes and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries & Pretzels. Later that afternoon a few of A's friends came over to help decorate the cookies and cupcakes. The kids did more eating then decorating, we all had a good time. We had our hands a little full so sorry I forgot to take pictures of the kids "helping". =)

Girls Night Out

Every month all the fire fighter wives get together and do a "Girls Night Out". Each month is a different theme hosted by a different wife. February was a Valentines theme and it was so much fun. We ate aphrodisiac foods, made homemade massage oils, edible body paint and valentines for our honeys. It was so much fun, I just had to tell you about it. =)

Snow Day

We got a pretty good snow storm on Monday it was so exciting, schools were sent home early on Monday and closed on Tuesday. We were getting a mix of snow and sleet for most of the day on Monday, then later in the after noon it turned to flakes, big flakes, and there was no stopping it. =) Within about an hour or two we had about 4 inches and by Tuesday morning we had 8 inches in our back yard! In town they got anywhere from 12 - 20 inches! Of course we had to go out and play in it. Here are some pics as it was starting to accumulate and some once the storm passed. I am sure this is nothing compared to what our family in Michigan is used to. =)

Getting warm by the fireA's friend R came over to sled with usSure makes the cold worth it when you wake up to this. So Pretty!Look at the icicles on the front porch.
