15 Month Update

As A gets older, she gets, cuter, faster, smarter, and funnier. She is developing such a little personality. A likes to dance and has recently started to sing, especially in the car. In the car you ask? Well, we are officially bad parents, not really, but we flipped A around in the car. She is no longer rear facing, and no she is not 20lbs. Let us tell you, it is like a different child in the car. We have not heard any crying in the last few days since flipping her, it is wonderful! She still loves to go on our daily walks, and is loving that we have been going swimming. (I think she is part fish like her big sister.) A still only has five teeth, three on top and two on bottom. We have also discovered her favorite meal of the day is breakfast, let me tell you how much she'll eat; 1 waffle, 1 scrambled egg, and 2 pieces of sausage! She doesn't eat the same thing everyday, but she does eat about the same amount everyday. Even with that huge meal she's still not 20lbs. We are not sure (exactly) how much she weighs, but we go on the 9th so we will let you know then, but we are guessing about 18lbs. And according to her growth chart she hasn't grown but maybe one inch, but she sure looks a lot taller, especially sitting in her chair. A is becoming quite the little mom, she loves to feed and care for her baby. This month she has learned to give "hi-five", she will actually put her arm in the air and say "five" if she wants you to give her one, it's so cute. A has also been working on her forward roll, I have been having to help her actually roll, but today she id it all on her own, yup that will have to be the next video. Well, I think I have covered just about covered everything A has been up to. Here are some pictures from the past month, hope you enjoy them.

Our 2nd Anniversary

D and I celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary on June 17th. We actually got to go out alone for the first time since A has been born, let me tell you how nice it was, thank you Rachel!

We dropped A off at our friends house and we headed into town. We had ordered our wedding cake toper again this year so we went and picked that up. After picking up our cake, we went to a little coffee house downtown. The coffee house has a great little courtyard, so we just hung out and talked. After our coffee, ok don't laugh, but we went to Home Depot, there we sat in the lawn and garden department on all the nice patio furniture, and looked at home decorating books, I know, cheesy. After Home Depot we went and had a nice dinner at Olive Garden. Let me tell you how nice it was to not have a screaming child and not have to inhale my food. Unfortunately, we ate too much, and didn't get to eat our cake. We ate it a couple days later and shared it with Ashley and some friends. We had a wonderful anniversary and look forward to many more wonderful years together.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there. We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing day. D had to work on Fathers Day this year, so I coordinated with the other wives of the guys he was gonna be working with and we went to the fire station and made them lunch. It turned out great! The food was delicious, and the guys loved seeing their wives and kids. The coolest thing was we spent most of the afternoon there and they didn't get called out once, so amazing. I don't have any pictures to post right now, but I will soon (hopefully) so you'll have to check back. (I have been waiting for pictures before posting, but now I am way behind on all our other posts, sorry.)

Our Family Vacation

This year for our family vacation we headed to California. It was a nice week filled with lots of fun. It was so nice to get away and just hang out and have some family time. Here is a little bit about our trip.

We left on Saturday morning driving, surprisingly the drive wasn't too bad. We were all very surprised how well A did, it's amazing what a DVD and a few snacks can do to a car ride. We arrived Saturday afternoon at our Friends Jennifer and Roberto's house in San Diego. It has been a few years since the last time we saw them so it was so great to hang out and catch up. Saturday night we went to dinner and watched the sunset on the beach, then it was back to their house to hang out in the hot tub, oh, it was so relaxing. Sunday, we just hung out around their house and played Rock Band. We left Sunday evening towards LA. On Monday, we surprised J with a trip to Magic Mountain. D and I love Magic Mountain and haven't been in years, and J has been dying to go for forever, we figured we better take advantage of A still being small and wanting to sit in her stroller for most of the day. We opened the park and had a great time riding all the huge roller coasters, time just went by way to fast, before we knew it we were closing the park. Then it was back into the car and on the road to Newport Beach.

We stayed in a super sweet Villa across the street from the beach. First let me tell you about our Villa. It was a 1240 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, fully equipped kitchen, dinning room, and living room. The master suite had a huge Jacuzzi tub and two headed walk in shower. J's room also had it's own bathroom. We even had our own washer and dryer in the room, it was so cool. OK enough about our Villa, let me tell you about the rest of our trip.
We got up every morning and ate breakfast on our little balcony, it was so beautiful. We spent some time, not much, hanging out at the resort, and the rest of the time we spent visiting Newport and Huntington Beaches. On Tuesday we went and checked out Newport Beach and all it's little shops, it was pretty cool. We headed back to the resort where we BBQ'd Carne Asada, and hung out by the resorts huge fire pit, it was really relaxing and our dinner turned out so good, we also got to chat with other people on vacation.
On Wednesday, we went and hung out on Huntington Beach. While we were there, we rented a bike and took a nice ride along the beach, we let J drive it on the way back, it only got bumpy once, it was really funny. We had a nice lunch, checked out a few shops, then hit the sand and water. J and I worked on our tans, while D and A built sand castles. Later D rented a surf board and went surfing, it kicked his butt since it has been so long since he has surfed, but he really enjoyed doing it again. We went back to the resort took showers then went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner, I don't do seafood, but it was a fun restaurant to go to.
Were already to Thursday, our last day, where did the time go? After breakfast we wen and hung out at the resort pool for a little bit before having to check out. Then we hit the road. On our way out of town, we stopped at Fashion Island, where J was in heaven. It was a HUGE outdoor mall, with lots of cool stores. J was having such a great time shopping. Well, that's it that was our vacation. We took a lot of pictures too many to post so I created a slide show for your viewing pleasure. We hope all of you have great summer vacations.

RIP Grandma Shookman

While on vacation we got that dreaded phone call, the one we all expect to get one day, but are never quite ready for, My Grandma (my mom's mom) passed away on Sunday, June 1st. It has been a rough few years for her, and she is now at peace, she has gone to be with her Mother, Sister, Husband and Son. She will be missed GRATELY! We love you Grandma, Rest in Peace.
