We left on Saturday morning driving, surprisingly the drive wasn't too bad. We were all very surprised how well A did, it's amazing what a DVD and a few snacks can do to a car ride. We arrived Saturday afternoon at our Friends Jennifer and Roberto's house in San Diego. It has been a few years since the last time we saw them so it was so great to hang out and catch up. Saturday night we went to dinner and watched the sunset on the beach, then it was back to their house to hang out in the hot tub, oh, it was so relaxing. Sunday, we just hung out around their house and played Rock Band. We left Sunday evening towards LA. On Monday, we surprised J with a trip to Magic Mountain. D and I love Magic Mountain and haven't been in years, and J has been dying to go for forever, we figured we better take advantage of A still being small and wanting to sit in her stroller for most of the day. We opened the park and had a great time riding all the huge roller coasters, time just went by way to fast, before we knew it we were closing the park. Then it was back into the car and on the road to Newport Beach.
We stayed in a super sweet Villa across the street from the beach. First let me tell you about our Villa. It was a 1240 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, fully equipped kitchen, dinning room, and living room. The master suite had a huge Jacuzzi tub and two headed walk in shower. J's room also had it's own bathroom. We even had our own washer and dryer in the room, it was so cool. OK enough about our Villa, let me tell you about the rest of our trip.
We got up every morning and ate breakfast on our little balcony, it was so beautiful. We spent some time, not much, hanging out at the resort, and the rest of the time we spent visiting Newport and Huntington Beaches. On Tuesday we went and checked out Newport Beach and all it's little shops, it was pretty cool. We headed back to the resort where we BBQ'd Carne Asada, and hung out by the resorts huge fire pit, it was really relaxing and our dinner turned out so good, we also got to chat with other people on vacation.
On Wednesday, we went and hung out on Huntington Beach. While we were there, we rented a bike and took a nice ride along the beach, we let J drive it on the way back, it only got bumpy once, it was really funny. We had a nice lunch, checked out a few shops, then hit the sand and water. J and I worked on our tans, while D and A built sand castles. Later D rented a surf board and went surfing, it kicked his butt since it has been so long since he has surfed, but he really enjoyed doing it again. We went back to the resort took showers then went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner, I don't do seafood, but it was a fun restaurant to go to.
Were already to Thursday, our last day, where did the time go? After breakfast we wen and hung out at the resort pool for a little bit before having to check out. Then we hit the road. On our way out of town, we stopped at Fashion Island, where J was in heaven. It was a HUGE outdoor mall, with lots of cool stores. J was having such a great time shopping. Well, that's it that was our vacation. We took a lot of pictures too many to post so I created a slide show for your viewing pleasure. We hope all of you have great summer vacations.
I had to include some pictures of our Villa.
