Well great news, Susie (the specialist) came back and was so impressed with how well Baby A has improved in this last month. Baby A is doing perfect and shows no signs of long term problems. Baby A is right where she needs to be. Susie wants us to continue a couple of the exercises, and added a few more to our plate, just to insure that she continues to progress. We will also continue to use the band around her legs so she doesn't "froggy" too much. Overall we are very happy that this delay is not going to affect her in the long run, and Susie was happy to see parents that actually worked with theie baby and got the progress she was looking for, she says so many times parents don't work with thier babies and don't understand why they aren't progressing. Anyway, (I got a little side tracked) thank you all for your prayers and kind words for Baby A.
Our BIG boy turns 11 this month, that is 77 in human years. Maq is getting old but he is still doing good. We have him eating Mature dog food, and we sprinkle a little bit of Glucosamine vitamins on it everyday to help out with his joints. Maq still loves to get his daily exercise by going on W-A-L-K-S, (he's so smart we have to spell it out). He is starting to get some gray hairs on his face and still has some trouble sliding around on the wood floors. We love him and are looking forward to many more good years with him. Happy Birthday Maq!
That's right Little David is now 5! We celebrated his Transformers birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza on Friday night. He got lots of transformers stuff, and surprisingly no duplicates. He was so cute every time he'd open a new present him and all his friends would get so excited, and give each other high fives. Oh, and his birthday candles were so cool, the flames were the colors of the candles, I want them for my birthday cake next year. =)
We went to J's parent teacher conference on Friday, and it went REALLY well. J got straight A's! We are so proud of her. Her teacher Miss Davis had nothing but nice things to say about J, she wishes she had a whole classroom of students just like her. For the most part a lot of things they have been working on have been a review so now things are going to start getting harder. This will start after her trip to science camp. J will be heading to science camp here in Prescott, from October 31-November 2. She is really excited for her trip. We will keep you posted on her trip to science camp.
Baby A turned 7 months old on Thursday. No Dr's appointment this time so we are not sure of her height and weight but she does go back on November 6th for her flu shot and one other vaccination. Since the specialist was here Baby A has started to roll, ok so she is a rolling machine. She is also getting pretty daring, she tries to pull herself up on anything she can, mirrors, tubs, chairs etc, she has no fear. She loves to stick her tongue out, and she blows lots of raspberries, especially when eating. Eating solids is going very well, right now she eats two times a day, with sweet potatoes being her favorite so far, but we will start all the fruits this week so I am sure that will change soon. As you can see in this picture she loves her new big girl high chair. That's about all for this update, talk to you all soon.
Baby A finally got to meet some of the Valencia family, including Nana. Nana was in Phoenix after returning from celebrating her 70th Birthday in Las Vegas, so we drove down to spend some time with her. It was a great day, she loved Baby A, and Baby A loved her Nana. We had a wonderful dinner, Nana's homemade FRESH tortillas, frijoles (beans), chicken tacos, and guacamole, mmm, yummy! Baby A even got to eat her first tortilla, Even better it was Nanas tortillas. Aunt E, Uncle D, and the boys also came over to celebrate Nanas birthday. I loved seeing some of my cousins, Tia's and Tio's that I haven't seen in a while. And they all loved the Baby A and the boys.

D spent the first part of last week at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes in Utah. Him, his brother and some friends drove up together on Monday, despite getting a late start, it turned out to be a good trip. No one was injured, but D did loose his clutch on his bike on the last day. This picture was not taken at the dunes i took it here before he left when he was test driving his bike. They are excited and can't wait for their next Dune trip to California.
Baby A was helping me fold laundry the other day and when I turned around she had D's underwear on her head, it was so funny, obviously she thought so too. I think it kinda makes her look like a nun. =)
This past weekend J forgot her belt, so D being the great dad that he is let her borrow one of his. (a big ol' honkin rodeo belt) She was so embarassed and looked at him like you can't be serious, good thing I had one that fit her. =)
Just wanted to update you all on how Baby A's appointment went with the specialist on Thursday. The appointment went really well. It was cool to see her work with Baby A, we were able to see some of her weaker areas right away. The good news is that nothing major seems to be wrong with her. They did a test on her and she scored in the 90th% for her fine motor skills, communication, and something else but her gross motor skills were only in the 60th%. If she were under 50% in any of these areas we would have to worry. The lady will be back in four weeks (October 30th) to re-evaluate Baby A, in the meantime we will doing several new exercises with her and quadrupling the amount of tummy time she gets everyday. Cross your fingers that we start to see some progress.
Some of you may have noticed my little workout ticker at the bottom of our blog. I have set a goal for myself to do 200 exercising miles by the end of the year. I started this goal on September 1st, today is October 1st, and in one month I have completed 71.5 miles! I am very excited and shocked all at the same time. I am not a person who follows my weight but I can tell you I have been losing inches and my muscles are definatly getting tighter. So go me! Baby A is my "workout" partner and she is a trooper and helps keep me motivated in my activity. I will keep you posted on the rest of my progress.
