This was a MUST do on our to do list with the Kargs. The hose cart races and bucket brigades are always so much fun...for everyone. One thing is fore-sure, weather you are in the races or just a spectator you will have fun and you will get wet. After a late night out of drinking it sure was hard to get up for the races. Some of you may know that Sara is like Dan's second wife. We both can remember on my wedding day me looking at Sara and saying "are you ready for this, because it's not just me marrying him, you are too" and it
has been true. so when we were one teammate short on our fire wives team, it was perfectly filled by Sara. =) She watches and cheers us on every year and this year she finally got to be a part of the action. Let me tell you she was our good luck charm and now she is wrangled in for good, because this year we took both championships: The Hose Cart Races and The Bucket Brigades!!! It was so awesome, we did it even with hangovers and 2 hours of sleep. lol After the races we treated the kids to a treat before heading to the Fire Union picnic then home for naps. They always have a kid Bucket Brigade too, they just love it and have so much fun!
This was our championship race, we were running down hill, the carts are so heavy it feels like it is pushing us not us pulling it. Needless to say it caught up with and ran my shoulder over, if you look at the next few pictures you can see the blood. =}
SO even with me getting run over, and loosing the end of the hose we still had water before the other team, as you see at the end it became a close race. In the picture below you can see how we got their cone down and ours is still standing.
Thank goodness the street was lined with fireman to help clean up my battle wound. It's pretty cool, I do have a nice scar, but I don't have to see it everyday and it sure is a cool story to tell. =)

That was so much fun and I was so happy to be able to be apart of the team this year. We rocked winning both the hose carts AND bucket brigades!!!!!!! (hungover, sore from crossfit and on 2 hrs of sleep) Great pictures.
