Update on Baby Bates

Well, we had my follow up ultrasound last Thursday. We were very excited to see and hear that all the cysts that were on my ovaries were now gone, so YAY, thank you for your prayers. Not really sure why they were there, where they came from or where they went, but at this point I don't care. =)

We also got to see the baby. Baby is growing really nicely, we were able to see Baby Bates's 4 chambers of the heart so well, even the ultrasound lady was surprised at the great view we got. We also so that all of it's bones and brain are developing good, that is so exciting, because to us a healthy baby was most important. With that being said we did try to get a peek to see the sex of the baby, for the most part it kept its legs closed & crossed the whole time, but at one point we did get it to flip and we got a very clear view of what looked to be a GIRL. It seemed very obvious to all of us that it was a girl, but because we only got one real quick view, were not ready to totally announce girl. We have another ultrasound after Christmas, hopefully we will get a better view then.

On a side note, it was so sad finding out the sex, I am really bummed that we did get that glimpse, not because it's a girl but because now all the fun, suspense, and magic has been taken out of the miracle of birth. I don't think I would find out again.

The "miracle" is still the conceiving, development and birth of this baby Melissa. You have a human baby developing inside your body. Something only God could do. It is truly a miracle. The sex was already chosen, like you told me, at conception. No need to be bummed. We're having a BABYYYY!!!! :) :) :) :)
